African Cichlids are, in my
opinion, the most colorful of the fresh
water
fish; their colors are almost that of salt water fish. They come from
Lake
Tanganyika and Lake Malawi in Africa. I saw some of them in a pet store once and
just
had to have some of my own! I now have a 5 gallon baby tank, a 30 gallon baby
tank, adults
in a 55 gallon tank, a 110 gallon tank and a 180 gallon
tank! I've concentrated my
efforts on the
Auloncara line from the Malawi lake. I do have several
haps, though. I've
had three batches of babies from my Lemmon Jake so
far. I have
two females for
him. These fish are aggressive and it is not wise to put two of the
same species
together or even two that are similar in color or
markings. They're a lot of
fun. The pictures on this page are of fish like the ones
I have.
